ORLANDO, Fla. – Utah Royals FC and United States Women’s National Team forward Christen Press put the Royals on the scoreboard in the 19th minute on a fantastic shot that found the back of the net against the Orlando Pride.

It put the club up 1-0 that held up through halftime.

Defender Michelle Maemone played the ball to Press on the left side that was captured at the top of the 18-yard box. Press took the ball from the Orlando defender and controlled the ball at her foot before firing the shot with her left foot that went into the goal on the bottom left side.

Press was acquired in the middle of last season from Chicago and scored two goals and added two assists with the Royals last season. She is the second player this season to score a goal for Utah. Lo’eau LaBonta scored the first goal of the season last week in their home opener against Washington.
