SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah State Aggies running back Darwin Thompson was drafted with the very last pick in the sixth round to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Thompson decided to skip his senior season to go to the NFL and it paid off as the Chiefs selected him. He is the only player from Utah State to get drafted in 2019.
The junior racked up 1,044 yards and 14 touchdowns for the Aggies.
He joins the five former Utes in Marquise Blair, Cody Barton, Mitch Wishnowsky, Matt Gay and Jackson Barton, as well as BYU linebacker Sione Takitaki as the players from the state of Utah to get drafted.
