Jazz Reportedly Grant Cavs Permission To Interview Jensen

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – According to reports, the Utah Jazz have granted the Cleveland Cavaliers permission to interview Alex Jensen for their open head coaching position.
Jensen has been an assistant with the Jazz since 2013 and has deep roots in the Utah basketball community.
He’s also well connected with the Cavs, having coached their G League team, the Canton Charge, from 2011-13. While with Canton, he was named the NBA D-League Coach of the Year.

Prior to entering the coaching field, Jensen had a successful playing career in Europe. Before that he was Utah’s Mr. Basketball in 1994 after leading Viewmont High to a 68-4 record during his high school days.
Following a mission to England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he played four years at the University of Utah under head coach Rick Majerus and was a valuable member of the team that played for the NCAA Tournament championship in 1998. He was later honored as the Mountain West Conference Player of the Year in 2000.
In addition to his duties with the Jazz, Jensen has worked as an assistant with the German national team since 2015.
