HOUSTON, Texas – On the road, in a tough environment and with their season on the line, Utah’s best player in Game 5 through three quarters has been Royce O’Neale.
The undrafted second year guard from Baylor has been outstanding in the game. He has 16 points, 3 rebounds and 1 assist on 7-of-10 shooting and 2-for-2 from downtown.
He has also been the main defender on James Harden, using most of his energy on the defensive end.
After scoring just two points in Game 1, O’Neale had 17 points in Game 2, 5 points in Game 3 and 11 points in Game 4. But he is standing out to fans as a great defender on Harden.
During the regular season, he averaged 5.2 points per game and has posted 8.8 points per game in the series with the Rockets.
