HOUSTON, Texas – He’s struggled to make an impact in the first four games of the series against the Houston Rockets, but in Game 5, Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles played his best half of the playoffs.
Going into the possible elimination game in Houston on Wednesday, Ingles was averaging 5.3 points per game, well off of his regular season average of 12.1 and quite far off the 14.5 points per game that he averaged in last year’s playoffs.
With three made 3-pointers in the first half, Ingles set a new series-high in scoring for himself with nine points. He also added four rebounds and three assists to go along with two assists. In total, he shot 3-for-7, all 3-point attempts in the opening two periods.
