LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert hit a mark that no other NBA has ever reached in a single season with his 300th dunk of the year.
The milestone came midway in the third quarter in the Jazz’s road contest against the Los Angeles Lakers on an assist by Thabo Sefolosha.
The Jazz big man had already set the single season record for dunks earlier this year by breaking the mark of 269 slams, set by Dwight Howard in the 2007-08.

The NBA began recording shot types for the first time in the 2000-01 season.
Honored last season as the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year, Gobert has expanded his offensive game this season by holding career highs in points and rebounds this season. In the 2018-19 season, Gobert is averaging 15.7 points with 12.9 rebounds per game.
The Jazz came into the game with a seven game winning streak and were the fifth seed in the Western Conference playoff race at the time of tipoff.
