SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – As the NBA regular season continues to wind down, the eight qualified teams continue to battle for positioning in the postseason.
As it stands prior to action on Thursday, the Golden State Warriors currently sit in the top spot with a 1.5 game lead on the Denver Nuggets.
However, with about five games to go for each team, anything could happen as the top four teams are all within 3.5 games of each other. The current fifth place team, the Utah Jazz, are also still in contention for homecourt advantage by trailing the Portland Trail Blazers by two games.
Here’s a look at who each Western Conference playoff team has next on deck:
1. Golden State Warriors (53-24)
Next up: at Los Angeles Lakers, Thursday
The Lakers have nothing left to play for and will be without LeBron James, who has been shut down for the rest of the season. The Warriors seem to be playing their best basketball of the season. To make matters worse for Golden State’s opponents, superstar Steph Curry revealed that he had been playing with poor vision and recently got contact lenses, which according to him, have already made a huge difference. Look out now, rest of the Western Conference and NBA, the Warriors are coming in hard and fast.
