SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – KSLSports.com’s Bracket of Movies continues with a Round of Eight matchup of two Cinderella squads out to extend their tournament ride. The 23-seeded Happy Gilmore meets The Sandlot, the No. 31 seed in the bracket.
Happy Gilmore advanced to the Round of Eight by defeating The Bad News Bears in the previous round. The Sandlot sent Cool Runnings packing in the Round of 16.
Featuring a memorable fight between Adam Sandler and Bob Barker, Happy Gilmore follows the story of a misfit golfer. Although he’s a hockey player at heart, Happy takes up golf as a way to make money to help his grandmother keep the family house.
The Sandlot is a story of a ragtag group of friends who love the game of baseball. The movie’s main conflict arises when the newest member of the group accidentally hits a ball signed by the immortal Babe Ruth over the outfield fence and into the grasp of the dreaded “Beast.”
