SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – KSLSports.com has launched a new Real Salt Lake Podcast named “The Lion’s Den.” Hosts Tom Hackett, Spencer Warne and Matt Gashck will provide weekly updates on all things Real Salt Lake and will regularly have guests that include players and coaches from the organization.

This week, Real Salt Lake right back Brooks Lennon joined the show. Lennon, who is only 21 years of age, has had a roller coaster career. At age 14, he joined the Real Salt Lake Youth Academy and spent the following 4 years down in Arizona perfecting his craft.

Then his big break came, English club Liverpool, signed the young American and spent time training the youngster abroad.

Although it was a one-in-a-lifetime experience for Lennon, it wasn’t completely amazing.

“I didn’t like the English food,” Brooks said when asked about the cuisine in England. “Fish and chips pregame to watch the first team play is a good meal, but I definitely was not there for the food.”

Lennon also spoke of his life long goal of playing for the U.S. national team.

“Greg (Berhalter) has expressed interest in me playing right back for the USMNT and that is obviously a dream of mine, I have been waiting to get a call in my entire life. Personally I think I am at a point where I deserve that call in, with my performances at the U-20 World Cup and the numbers that I produced there,” said Lennon.

Real Salt Lake are currently sitting eight spot in the Western Conference and are preparing to face the Seattle Sounders away from home in Century Link Stadium. The Sounders had won their first 3 games before suffering a 0-0 draw against Vancouver over the weekend.

Seattle are in a tie for second place in the West with a total of 10 points.
