Mar 26, 2019, 1:26 PM
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – KSLSports.com’s Bracket of Movies continues with a matchup of the 10 and 23 seeds.
The 10th seed, Major League, is the story of a rag-tag baseball team set up for failure but which overcomes their own incompetence to become pennant contenders. After the Cleveland Indians receive a new owner, a roster of the worst possible players is assembled with the intention of playing so poorly ownership can move the team to greener pastures. However, the players get wise to the scheme and decide to turn the tables by winning the pennant. Charlie Sheen stars as a fire-throwing pitcher with a criminal past in this baseball classic.
Major League meets the 23 seed in the tournament, Happy Gilmore. This movie put Adam Sandler on the map as a comedy megastar. In the golf-based comedy, Sandler stars as a hockey-crazed golfer whose unconventional style and swing help him buy his grandmother’s house from impending foreclosure. Along the way, he faces off with Christopher McDonald’s character, Shooter McGavin, the best golfer on tour, who threatened by Gilmore’s rise to fame, conspires to take him down.
