SUU Falls to CSU Bakersfield In CIT

CEDAR CITY, Utah – The SUU Thunderbirds had a chance to tie the game up with a last-ditch attempt at the buzzer, but the ball didn’t go in as they saw their season end with a 70-67 loss to CSU Bakersfield in the second round of the CIT.
Although they were within striking distance throughout the game, SUU couldn’t recover a lead they lost midway through the first half.

The Roadrunners were far more effective shooting the ball, converting at a clip of 42.9 percent from the field to just 35.7 percent by SUU.
SUU’s Brandon Better was the game’s high scorer with 20 points on 4-for-8 shooting with three 3-pointers made.
Greg Lee led CSU Bakersfield with 15 points off the bench.
Southern Utah will finish the 2018-19 season with a 17-17 record.
