SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Even though his only made field goal came in the end of a blowout loss to top-seeded Gonzaga, Farleigh Dickinson senior Nadi Beciri’s fourth-quarter basket was quite meaningful.
Towards the end of what turned out to be a 38-point win for Gonzaga, the program’s biggest win yet in the NCAA Tournament, Beciri took the ball on a fast-break and converted on a layup despite being fouled.
After the whistle blew, the FDU crowd went crazy as Becirici made his way to the bench to give his head coach, Greg Herenda, a big embrace.

It was the last basket of Beciri’s career, which had been marred with adversity. Due to injuries, he had only appeared in two games of his senior season.
Although his final collegiate basket was mostly inconsequential in the result of his team’s quick exit from the tournament, the embrace between the player and coach will be remembered as the highlight of the Knights’ appearance in the NCAA Tournament in Salt Lake City.
The Bulldogs won 87-49.
