Three BYU Players Earn WCC Honors

PROVO, Utah – The West Coast Conference announced their regular season awards that have three players from BYU being recognized for their performances this season.
Yoeli Childs was named to the All-WCC First Team for the second straight season. He averaged a league-best 20.7 points per game and was second in rebounding with 9.5 per game. Childs was top 15 in field goal percentage, steals, blocks, offensive rebounds and minutes played.
The South Jordan, Utah native scored in double figures in all but one conference game this season. He scored 20 points or more in nine games and had nine double-doubles, which was second-best in the WCC.

Junior guard T.J. Haws was named to the All-WCC Second Team after averaging 18.8 points, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game during conference play.

Freshman forward Gavin Baxter was selected to the All-WCC Freshman Team after he averaged 7.3 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 68 percent from the field.

BYU is the No. 3-seed in the WCC Tournament in Las Vegas. They will face either No. 10 Portland, No. 7 San Diego or No. 6 Santa Clara in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 10 p.m. on ESPN2 and KSL Newsradio.
