5A High School Basketball Tournament Quarterfinals Wrap Up

OGDEN, Utah – The quarterfinal round of the 5A tournament featured four games from the second-highest classification in the state of Utah.
The tournament started with 16 teams with only 8 schools remaining that all have the same goal, winning a state championship.
Here are the results from the action at the Dee Events Center in Ogden, Utah:
East 60, Skyridge 53
Skyridge had a 28-23 halftime lead before East dropped 21 points in the third quarter and held Skyridge to just 8 points. The Falcons couldn’t bounce back in the fourth quarter as East punched their ticket to the semifinals.
Only four players scored for the Leopards, led by Andre Mulibea with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Cook Daw and Taylor Zwick scored 17 points apiece, while Zach Moore chipped in 7 points.

Duncan Reid scored 22 points to lead all scorers. Trevon Snoddy chipped in a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds for Skyridge.
UP NEXT: East will face Jordan in the semifinals on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Jordan 61, Murray 43
Dyson Koehler exploded for a 27-point, 10-rebound double-double to lead the Beetdiggers past Murray and into the semifinals.
After holding on to just a 2-point lead at halftime, Jordan outscored Murray 39-19 in the second half to win in a 18-point victory.
Ajak Arok had 15 points to led the Spartans.

Olympus 62, Timpanogos 42
After a slow start to the game, the Titans dominated in the second half, outscoring the Timberwolves 46-16 in the second half to advance to the semifinals.
Rylan Jones turned in a game-high 22 points with 5 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. His teammate, Jeremy Dowdell chipped in 19 points.

Matt Norman led the Timberwolves with 13 points.
UP NEXT: Olympus will play Corner Canyon in the semifinals on Friday at 5:50 p.m.
Corner Canyon 64, Highland 50
Corner Canyon built a sizable 25-12 lead after the first quarter and kept the foot on the gas all the way to the win.
Gabe Toombs turned in a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds while Hayden Welling had 18 points and John Mitchell added 16.
Christian Rich led the Rams with 12 points.
