SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Due to Minnesota’s Karl-Anthony Towns missing the Timberwolves’ most recent game against New York, Utah Jazz forward Joe Ingles became the NBA’s active leader in consecutive games played.

As to how Ingles has been able to keep such a streak alive, it’s simple according to Jazz head coach Quin Snyder.
“He wants to play,” said Snyder of Ingles. “There’s probably been games where he could have not played, for good reason. Not that he’s in any danger, he’s just uncomfortable, he wants to be out there. He doesn’t want to be out there to break a record or have a streak, he’s out there because he likes to play.”
Snyder also gave Ingles and the Jazz training staff credit for his success when it comes to recovery after games.

Ingles Couldn’t Care Less
The streak may be impressive, but Ingles could really care less to talk about it.
“Next question,” he said with eyes rolled after the game.
After some prodding, he relented and gave a similar explanation to Snyder’s as to how he’s been able to stay on the court.

“If it gets us get a win, help us get to the Finals, get to the playoffs, whatever it is” said Ingles. “I do like to play basketball that’s why I’ve played for however long but it’s not like I’m preparing each week to keep (the streak intact), I don’t even know what it is to be really honest with you.”
The Jazz won 125-109 over the Mavericks.
Ingles scored 18 points with five 3-pointers made.
