Utah Valley Handles UMKC

OREM, Utah – Utah Valley was able to take care of UMKC 79-67, with four players scoring in double figures.
Conner Toolson and Baylee Steele had 15 points apiece to lead UVU. Jake Toolson chipped in 14 points and P.J. Washington added 11 points.
The Roos were led by Xavier Bishop with 19 points, Danny Dixon added 16 points off the bench and Brandon McKissic added 13 points.
Team Effort Leads UVU To Win
Utah Valley had some struggles early in the first half but were able to get things going. They had a 39-33 lead at halftime with Jake Toolson putting up 12 points on 5-for-7 shooting from the field.
The Wolverines shot 58 percent from the field at the break, while the Roos made 43 percent of their shots.
UVU had 22 points in the paint, while UMKC had just 12 and they had 12 second chance points to the Roos’ 2 points.
UMKC had a good start to the second half as they briefly took the lead before the Wolverines took it back.
Utah Valley went on to make six of their next seven shots and had a 62-54 lead with eight minutes remaining.

Utah Valley improved to 19-8 overall and 8-4 in the WAC with their third straight win. They will be back on the road to play Seattle on Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Seattle is 15-12 this season with a 3-9 record in conference play. The Wolverines picked up an 88-78 win in their first meeting this season in Orem on January 12.
