SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The Utah Warriors moved to 0-2 on the young season with a 21-10 loss to the San Diego Legion.
It took a while for either team to get started but once San Diego got on the board, they quickly buried the Warriors.
The scoring began in the 18th minute when JP du Plessis made his way past the try line for the first score of the game. Joe Pietersen followed that up by making the conversion and then penalty goals that followed to give San Diego a 8-0 lead.

Pietersen knocked in another penalty goal in the 34th minute and Devin Short scored a try in the 38th minute to give the Legion a commanding 18-3 lead at the halftime break.
The second half was considerably slower. Utah’s Angus MacLellan scored a try quickly with a conversion by O’Malley to bring the score to 18-10 in the 46th minute.
That was the last scoring of the game for Utah as Pietersen nailed another penalty goal in the 73rd to ice the game.
The Warriors will play their first home game of the season against the Glendale Raptors on Saturday at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
