PROVO, Utah – The BYU Cougars men’s volleyball team got back on track with a sweeping victory over Concordia.
After losing three straight matches to top 10 squads, the Cougars finally got what could be considered an easier matchup against Concordia. February had not been kind to BYU as the team won just one set over its four-game losing streak in defeats to No. 9 UC-Santa Barbara (twice), No. 5 Pepperdine and No. 4 UCLA.

The Eagles, while unranked going into the matchup, carried a bit of good fortune in their history against BYU. Last year, the Eagles climbed to No. 14 in the nation prior to meeting the No. 2-ranked Cougars in Smith Fieldhouse. Concordia shocked BYU with 3-2 victory, the Cougars’ first conference loss of the season.
This year, there would be no upset.
The Cougars were challenged in a marathon of a first set but they ultimately prevailed 32-20 to start the match on the right foot.
After that, it was smooth sailing for the Cougars as they blew past the Eagles in straight sets by winning the second 25-18 and the third 25-13.
