Jazz Primed For Another Late-Season Push

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Coming down the homestretch of the season, the Utah Jazz have played 57 games as they head into the All-Star break with a record of 32-25.

Compared to last season after 57 games, the Jazz are three games better this season.

Both this year and last year, the team hit the All-Star break as one of the hottest teams in the NBA. Over their last 15 games before the break this year, the Jazz have gone 11-4. At the break last season, the Jazz went 13-2 over the last 15 games.

As has been well documented, the Jazz finished off last season on a roll, winning 19 of their final 25 games.

Should we expect the same kind of finish this year?

Well if you look at the strength of schedule, expect it.

According to ESPN, the Jazz have the second-easiest schedule in the league to finish off the season.

They have 13 home games in the final 25 games of this regular season, not unlike last year when they had 15 home games in the last 25.

Easy games include three matchups against Phoenix, and one game apiece against other NBA cupcakes like Chicago, New York and Chicago.

The Jazz will have to face some tougher opponents like Milwaukee and Denver twice, but they’ve shown the ability to compete with some of the league’s top teams at various points of the season.

So can the Jazz capture lightning in a bottle again?

You bet.
