SOUTHERN UTAH THUNDERBIRDS
SUU Picks Up Second Win Of The Season Over Weber State

CEDAR CITY, Utah – Southern Utah picked up its second win of the season over Weber State in a 65-53 victory.
The Wildcats may have been seeking revenge for a 90-82 overtime loss to the Thunderbirds in Ogden on Jan. 5. That win was SUU’s first conference win after dropping its first three Big Sky games. The victory for the Thunderbirds also snapped a four-game winning streak for the Wildcats.
This time, the Thunderbirds didn’t need overtime to pick up the win as they rolled to a wire-to-wire victory.

Big Day For Big Thunder
After scoring the first five points of the game, it didn’t take long for the Thunderbirds to build a 9-point lead at 20-11 on a pair of made free throws by Harrison Butler.
After the teams traded baskets, SUU extended its lead to 11 off a 3-pointer by Butler.
Butler was tremendous in the first half, leading the game with 11 points while the Thunderbirds built a 33-27 lead at the break.

Weber State’s leading scorer, Jerrick Harding, was ice cold, going 0-for-9 in the first half.
Harding finally found the bottom of the net in the second half. His layup with 6:07 left in the second half brought the score within three at 48-45.
That was as close as Weber State would get in the second half as the Thunderbirds rolled to the 12-point win.
