Weber State Wildcats National Signing Day Commitments

OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats announced their signing class on National Letter of Intent Day.

Weber State head coach Jay Hill is reloading his defense with a good portion of his signees are linebackers and defensive lineman.

Maxwell Anderson, Cornerback

Anderson is a defensive back from Moreau Catholic High School in Hayward, California.


Garrett Beck, Linebacker

Beck joins the Wildcats from Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian, Idaho. The three-star recruit was named first team All-State.


Josh Carter, Long Snapper

Carter doesn’t have to travel very fair to Weber State as he is from North Ogden and Weber High School.


Justin Haase, Athlete

Haase is considered an athlete, which means he could play defensive back or wide receiver. He is a two-star wide receiver from Puyallup High School in Washington.

Brayden Hamilton, Tight End

Hamilton joins Weber State from Rocky Mountain High School in Meridian, Idaho.


Ja’kobe Harris, Cornerback

Harris is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana but played high school football at Tennyson in Hayward, California.


Sherwin Lavaka, Linebacker

Lavaka is a transfer from Snow College. He played his high school football at Kearns.


Dane Leituala, Fullback

Leituala played linebacker at Taylorsville High School but will go to the offensive side of the football at Weber State as a fullback. He is a two-star recruit.

Dontae McMillan, Athlete

McMillian comes to Ogden from Chief Sealth High School in Seattle, Washington. He is a three-star recruit that had offers from Northern Colorado, Oregon, Sacramento State and Utah State.


Brandt Opheikens, Linebacker

Opheikens won’t have to travel very far to college, being from Pleasant View, Utah and Weber High School, where he played linebacker and tight end in high school. He will play linebacker for the Wildcats.

Kaufusi Pakofe, Defensive Lineman

Pakofe is a 6-3, 300 lbs. defensive lineman from Highland High School.


Jacob Sharp, Cornerback

Sharp is a 5-11, 170 lbs. cornerback from Bethel High School in Vallejo, California. He also plays basketball in high school and just scored 1,000 points in his high school career.

Kyle Thompson, Kicker

Thompson will head to Ogden in two years after serving an LDS mission. He is from American Fork High School.

Raimoana Tinirauarii, Athlete

Tinirauarii is a 6-2, 200 lbs. athlete from Juan Diego High School.

Alema Tupuola, Linebacker

Another in-state recruit staying in Utah as Tupuola is from Davis High School.

Spencer Watson, Offensive Lineman

Watson is 6-6, 290 lbs. from Aberdeen High School in Springfield, Idaho.


Desmond Williams, Safety

Williams will likely have an immediate impact on the Wildcats as he transferred from Boise State. In 2017, he had 30 tackles, including 3 for a loss and 2 sacks with the Broncos. Williams is from Corona, California.


Daniel Wright, Running Back

Wright is a junior college transfer from American River College. The Vacaville, California native had 633 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns in junior college.
