Utah Women Drop To No. 17; BYU Falls Out In Latest Poll

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Following their two losses to top 10 teams, Utah women’s basketball dropped three spots to No. 17 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll.
The Utes couldn’t pick up wins on the road against Oregon or Oregon State. Utah was down by four points entering the fourth quarter when the Ducks outscored the Utes 27-9 to pick up the 87-65 win. Megan Huff scored a career-high 38 points to go with her 11 rebounds.
Utah lost to No. 9 Oregon State in Corvallis, 71-63. The Utes led early in the game but the Beavers came back to tie the game going into the halftime break. It was neck-and-neck throughout the third quarter and early in the fourth period before Oregon State pulled away for the win. Megan Huff had 17 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Utes.
In the Pac-12, Oregon moved up to No. 3, Oregon State jumped to No. 9, Stanford dropped to No. 11 and Arizona State moved up one spot to No. 20.
The Utes will host USC on Friday at 7 p.m. and UCLA on Sunday at 12 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.
BYU’s 11-game winning streak was snapped on Thursday when they lost on the road to Loyola Marymount 61-58. They went from an 11-game winning streak to a two game losing streak after they lost to Pepperdine 79-65 on Saturday.
Those two losses dropped the Cougars out of the top 25. They will host St. Mary’s on Thursday at 11 a.m. and Pacific on Saturday at 2 p.m. Both games will be televised on BYUtv.
