OGDEN, Utah – Despite leading nearly the entire game, the Weber State Wildcats saw a home conference game slip away in the final minute in a 76-75 loss to Portland State.
With former Wildcats star and freshly named NBA All-Star Damian Lillard in the crowd, Weber State suffered a terrible second half collapse.

The Wildcats led by 12 with less than 10 minutes remaining when Portland State made its move and brought the score to 72-71 with 43 seconds remaining.
Down by one, Portland State’s Deante Strickland drained a deep 3-pointer with 24 seconds remaining to give the Vikings a 74-72 advantage.

Jerrick Harding had a shot at the basket, but it clanked off the glass then off the iron and into the hands of Derek Brown, who was fouled and sent to the line. He made both free throws to ice the game.
Harding knocked down a deep three of his own at the buzzer, but it was meaningless to the outcome as the Wildcats fell to 7-3 in Big Sky conference play and 13-8 overall.
Key Stats
In the loss, Harding finished as the game’s high scorer with 28 points on 11-for-18 shooting. Zach Braxton chipped in 15 points with eight rebounds.
