SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – It will be one year since the passing of philanthropist and Utah basketball arena namesake Jon M. Huntsman. To honor his memory, the Utah basketball team is gathering donations on behalf of the Huntsman Cancer Institute.
Utah head coach Larry Krystkowiak and his wife, Jan, will be matching donations up to $100,000 for the “Huntsman Strong” game on Saturday against Oregon State.
Help us honor Jon Huntsman Sr. on Feb. 2 vs Oregon State & continue the fight against cancer.
All funds raised will be used to further cancer research at the @huntsmancancer Institute.

For Krystkowiak, who became close friends with Huntsman before the latter’s passing, it would be a thrill to hand the Institute a check for the full amount possible.
“That’s as much of a win for us as winning these games. We obviously want to win, we want to beat Oregon, we want to beat Oregon State. But it’s going to be a real big win if we can raise some money. Jon’s legacy continues to live,” said Krystkowiak.

“I’m not one to be great at asking for money, but I know I would love to be able to write a check to Huntsman Cancer Institute and let them advance the research because that Jon’s goal,” said Krystkowiak.
