KANSAS CITY, Missouri – Former BYU safety Daniel Sorensen came to play for the Kansas City Chiefs in the AFC Championship game against the New England Patriots.
After a controversial play review gave New England the ball after what could have called a muffed punt return by Julian Edelman, Sorensen picked off a pass by Tom Brady to Edelman that bounced off Edelman’s hands.

Sorensen returned the interception 24 yards to the Patriots’ 23-yard line.
That set the Chiefs up for a touchdown two plays later to make the score 21-17 for Kansas City with 7:45 remaining in the fourth quarter.
Earlier in the fourth quarter, Sorensen came up with a huge tackle on running back Rex Burkhead to stop the Patriots from getting a first down on fourth and short.
