OGDEN, Utah – The Weber State Wildcats are now in first place in the Big Sky Conference with a 78-64 win over Northern Colorado.

Cody John led the Wildcats with 20 points, Jerrick Harding chipped in 16 points while Michal Kozak poured in 12 points and 8 rebounds.

Jordan Davis had 25 points to lead the Bears, Bodie Hume added 14 points.

Close First Half

As expected, the game was close in the first 10 minutes of the game with Northern Colorado holding a two point lead.

Harding hit a difficult contested shot followed by a floater to give the Wildcats the two point advantage with eight minutes left in the first half.

Over the next five minutes, both teams were in a slump with the score tied at 24 with Weber State scoring just two points and the Bears adding just four points.

Northern Colorado took a 31-29 lead into the locker room.

Wildcats Seal The Win

Weber State had a 7-0 run early in the second half that gave them their biggest lead of the game 50-40 with 13 minutes left.

A 5-0 run for the Wildcats with 8 minutes left in the game was threating to put the game away when they were up 59-46.

With two minutes left, Weber State gained the momentum when a goaltend wasn’t called in Northern Colorado’s favor and head coach Jeff Linder argued the no-call and received a technical foul. Harding hit both free-throws and put Weber State up 73-58, putting the game away.

Up Next

Weber State improved their record to 12-6 overall and 6-1 in Big Sky play and have won their last three games and seven of their last eight.

They will travel to Bozeman to face Montana State on Thursday at 7 p.m. on Pluto TV channel 238. The Bobcats are 7-10 overall on the year and 4-3 in the conference and have lost their last two games.

Weber State won the only meeting last season in overtime 95-92 on the road.
