Skinner Leads Red Rocks To Sweeping Victory Over Oregon State

CORVALLIS, Oreg. – Another strong outing by MyKayla Skinner helped push the No. 4 Utah gymnastics squad to a 197.150-195.450 victory over Oregon State.
The Red Rocks swept the meet in all four events en route to their third straight victory of the season.

Skinner took the top spot in two of the four events and finished second in another in the Utes’ victory on the road. With a nearly perfect score of 9.975, Skinner was the top gymnast on the vault and took home the uneven parallel bars event with a score of 9.925. She also was just behind Oregon State’s Savanna Force for second place in the floor exercise.

With a final score of 39.625, Skinner was the all-around champion in the meet, ahead of the Beavers’ Kaitlyn Yanish and Utah teammate MaKenna Merrell-Giles.

Utah will next head to Arizona State for its next meet on Jan. 26th. The meet will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
