Ingles Talks To Woj On Podcast After Blowing Kiss To Fan

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Just days after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert appeared on a national podcast, Jazz forward Joe Ingles had his turn on ESPN’s The Woj Pod.
Talking to Adrian Wojnarowski just days after making national headlines by blowing a kiss to heckling fan, Ingles talked about his rise to NBA prominence and his status as one of the top trash-talkers in the league.
Asked by Wojnarowski if he was the best trash talker in basketball, Ingles’ answer was simple.
“No,” said Ingles. “I don’t think so.”

As for whether he’s the “most improbable trash-talker,” Ingles laughed and conceded that he might have that title.
“Maybe that,” he said. “It’s funny that it’s even become that.”
Ingles continued to say that on the plane he spoke about it with teammate Georges Niang, who said that Ingles is a master of talking during games without losing focus in the game.
“I can play the same way and talk to everyone in the arena, the coach, the other team, other players, where it does make me laugh a little bit in my head at what’s happening,” said Ingles.
Dealing With Trolls
Knowing that he doesn’t look the part of a typical NBA star, Ingles said he leans into his unassuming appearance, especially when it comes to dealing with hecklers and social media trolls.
“I’ve got a receding hairline, I’m slow and I’m probably no the most jacked up with abs and all that,” admitted Ingles. “But I’m still going to beat you one-on-one.”

“Let’s be real … I’ve got a receding hairline, I’m slow and I’m probably not the most jacked up with abs and all that, but I’m still going to beat you one-on-one. Settle down.”

Playing Under Snyder
Now in his fifth season, all with Utah, Ingles said he’s learned to adjust to the growing respect he’s earned from other NBA players.
He also continued to say that he feels right at home with Utah and with head coach Quin Snyder.
“He’s the best coach that I’ve ever had,” said Ingles of Snyder. “Not only for me personally, but just being around a team. The confidence he gives guys one through 15 is something that I’ve never seen in a coach.”
