Aggies See Game Slip Away In Final Seconds Against Fresno State

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies lost in heartbreaking fashion to Fresno State 78-77 in a Mountain West Conference contest.
For 39:35 of the 40 minute contest, the Aggies held the lead, with the advantage as big as 12 in the first half. Fresno State led for just five seconds, but it proved to be the final seconds as the Bulldogs stole the win on their final shot of the game.

Fresno State’s Braxton Huggins hit a 3-pointer with five seconds remaining to take the lead at 78-77.
After calling a timeout, Utah State’s Sam Merrill attempt a 3-pointer that just missed as the Aggies saw what would have been their second Mountain West Conference win slip away.
Aggies Start Strong, Fade At End
The Aggies led 38-30 at the halftime break, thanks to 11 points by Brock Miller, who hit three 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes. He would not score again in the second half.
Unfortunately for Utah State, Fresno State caught fire at the end of the game, hitting five of their last six shots, including the fateful 3-pointer to win the game.

Huggins was sensation for the Bulldogs, scoring a game-high 33 points with eight 3-pointers made.
Merrill led the Aggies with 16 points but went just 3-for-10 from the field. The Aggies had five players in double figures, including Merrill, Neemias Queta, Abel Porter, Miller and Quinn Taylor.
