SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Utes gymnastics team will open their season on Saturday at the Huntsman Center when they host Penn State.
The No. 5 ranked Utes are led by junior Mykayla Skinner, who is a two-time NCAA champion. She is back to lead the Utes who return five All-Americans.
“After last season, we have been working so hard and preparing for this moment,” Skinner said.
The Red Rocks have plenty of depth, going 7-8 deep in every event. Expectations are sky high to improve from last seasons fifth place finish in the NCAA Championships.
Kari Lee is entering her senior season and looks forward to improving on last year’s results in the NCAA Championships.
“We didn’t finish like we wanted to last year, so we kind of have that chip on our should but we’re really excited to see what our potential will be this year,” Lee said.
