Lillard Arrives In Utah With Leg Lamp Inspired By ‘A Christmas Story’

NBA Twitter

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Weber State legend and current Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard made a splash carrying a uniquely crafted lamp as he entered the arena for the Christmas Day matchup between the Blazers and the Utah Jazz.

Lillard walked in the players’ entrance clutching a lamp, not unlike the one made famous from the popular holiday movie, A Christmas Story. Lillard’s lamp however, was ready for NBA action, wearing compression tights and one of his signature Adidas Dame 5 sneakers.

The leg lamp became iconic in the holiday classic movie, when the main character’s father won a lamp of a woman’s leg with a fishnet stocking as a prize in a sweepstakes contest. In the movie, the leg arrived in a large wooden box, marked “Fragile.” Lillard’s leg arrived in Utah in a similar manner.

Lillard, who played collegiately at Weber State University from 2008-2011, has enjoyed solid fanfare in Utah for his play at the Ogden-based university. He has also made it known that if he were to ever be unwanted by the Trail Blazers, that the Jazz would be one of his preferred destinations.

Fans, Media Enjoy Lillard’s Lamp

The lamp drew plenty of attention on social media, who found Lillard’s unique cargo hilarious.

Twitter user @AyyIzzyy was amazed with the leg lamp.

Catherine Patterson said that the lamp got her in the proper holiday spirit.

Victoria declared that Lillard had the best overall outfit of all the NBA stars on Christmas Day.
