SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Although most of the action inside an NBA game takes places inside the lines, sometimes the fans do become a part of the action.
During the Utah Jazz’s win over the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell left into the crowd after a loose ball. In the process, he collided with Jazz fan Ilana Anderson.
With a foot wrapped in ice by the arena staff, Anderson made a trip to the hospital, where her father, Shawn, documented the ordeal on Twitter.

Luckily for everyone involved, she was not hurt, other than a few sprains and bruises.
Mitchell took notice and offered to send Anderson a jersey and pair of shoes.
I’m glad you are okay! Thanks for helping me out 😂😂! I got you with a jersey and shoes for sure 💯💯🙏🏾🙏🏾 https://t.co/1aSBLuRZr9

“I apologized for starters,” said Mitchell during shootaround prior to Friday’s game at Portland. “I be like I appreciate you breaking my fall, I appreciate you sacrificing yourself for the Jazz. That won’t go unnoticed. I think everyone’s taken note on what she’s done.”
Mitchell concluded his apology by thanking Anderson and saying that the gift package is on the way.
