USU Hires Jason Phillips As Passing Game Coordinator

LOGAN, Utah – Utah State’s new head coach Gary Andersen continued to add to his staff by naming Jason Phillips as the Aggies’ passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach.

Phillips was hired away from the Salt Lake Stallions of the Alliance of American Football and now will run Utah State’s passing game, which led by quarterback Jordan Love, was one of the top offenses in the country this last season.
Phillips played college football at the University of Houston before being drafted by the Detroit Lions of the NFL in 1989.
Following his playing days, he has since racked up nearly 20 years of coaching experiences with stops at Houston, Baylor, SMU, Kansas and Oregon State with multiple NFL internships.
