Utes Set School Record With Nine First-Team All-Pac-12 Selections

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Utes set a new record for first-team All-Pac-12 Conference selection with nine. The number of Utes selected to the first team was also the most of any team in the conference.
Punter Mitch Wishnowski received his third first-team honors while Matt Gay repeated as the first-team kicker. Britain Covey was named first-team return specialist to round out Utah’s near sweep of the first-team special teams honors.

Offensive lineman Jordan Agasiva and Jackson Barton were the two Utah representatives on the first-team offense. Four Utes were named to the first-team defense including defensive lineman Bradlee Anae, defensive lineman Leki Fotu, linebacker Chase Hansen and defensive back Jaylon Johnson.
Four more Utes made the second team. Defensive tackle John Penisini, defensive back Julian Blackmon, defensive back Marquise Blair and running back Zack Moss were all named to the second squad.
Linebacker Cody Barton, defensive back Corrion Ballard, defensive back Javelin Guidry and offensive lineman Lo Falemaka earned honorable mention honors.
The Utes’ 17 total players named to All-Pac-12 teams is their most since joining the conference in 2011.
