OREM, Utah – Led by big efforts by Jake Toolson and Connor Toolson, the Utah Valley Wolverines won their 16-straight win at home in a 74-68 victory over North Dakota.
The current home winning streak stands as the third-best active streak in the country.
“I’m really proud of our guys,” said Utah Valley head coach Mark Pope. “Winning 16 straight games at home is not easy. There are only four other teams in the country right now to reach that mark. We plan on keeping the streak alive here at the UCCU Center. We were good on the glass tonight but we just didn’t have the energy tonight. We’re just happy to keep the streak alive. This home court has been magic for us and we plan on keeping it going.”
Battling from behind all game, the Fighting Hawks finally caught UVU at 58-55 with 6:45 left in the second half. The two teams played back-and-forth before the Wolverines went on a 8-0 run to finish and ice the game.
Jake Toolson finished with 17 points with three 3-pointers made while Connor Toolson added 15 points of his own.
North Dakota was led by Connor Avants, who turned in 20 points.
Utah Valley will go for 17-straight at on home on Wednesday at Western State.
