LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Utah Jazz dropped their third consecutive game in a 90-83 road loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

After dropping the team’s fifth loss in six games, head coach Quin Snyder admitted that the Jazz need to pick up the intensity and develop a sense of urgency.

“Obviously, we feel the urgency of how ever many games we’ve played now,” Snyder said to Eric Woodyard of the Deseret News. “But I don’t want to say the season is young but I do want our guys to understand that there is word to be done, let’s get after it and continue to do it and hopefully we will be a better team next month and so on and so forth.”

Mitchell Leaves Game With Injury

Donovan Mitchell left the game in the second quarter due to a rib contusion and did not return. He finished with four points on 2-for-9 shooting with three rebounds and two steals.

In his absence, Alec Burks logged significant minutes and led the Jazz in scoring with 17 points.

LeBron Takes Over In The Fourth

It was a remarkably low scoring game out the gates as the two teams took a 38-38 tie into the halftime break. The scoring picked up in the second half as the Lakers led by one going into the fourth.

In the final period, LeBron James came alive and led the Lakers to the win. He scored nine points in the quarter on 4-of-6 shooting. He finished with double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds.

Brandon Ingram was the game’s leading scorer with 24 points.

Next Up

The Jazz will next head north to face the Sacramento Kings Sunday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
