PROVO, Utah – The BYU Cougars rolled past Oral Roberts 85-65 thanks in part to a double-double by Yoeli Childs.
It was a close game until the final six minutes of the first half when BYU went on a 20-6 run to take a 43-31 lead into the locker rooms at halftime. From there the lead only got bigger as the Cougars rolled to a 20-point victory.

Childs finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds to complete the double-double. Although he’s known for being more of an inside scoring threat, he drained a couple of 3-pointers in the victory.
“We just did an unbelievable job of being patient,” said Childs postgame. “All of our guards were great, great in the press.”
Interestingly, it was Childs who led the Cougars in 3-pointers made with two as they had a challenging night from beyond the arc, converting just 25.0 percent of their tries.

Jahshire Hardnett chipped in 16 points of his own, while Connor Harding added 10 to be the other Cougars in double figure scoring on the night.
The Golden Eagles were led in scoring by Kevin Obanor and Kaelen Malone, who each turned in 12 points.
Next up for BYU is a home matchup with Alabama A&M on Saturday at 4 p.m. The game will be broadcast on BYUtv.
