UTAH STATE AGGIES
Utah State Leads Nation In Scoring

LOGAN, Utah – The Utah State Aggies are coming off of a 62-24 win over San Jose State on senior day. With that win, Utah State now leads the nation in points per game with 51.3.
They passed Alabama who dropped to third in the country with 48.6 points per game, after they scored just 24 points in their win over Mississippi State.
Utah State has scored 40 points or more in eight of their 10 games this season. They have scored 513 points in ten games. Oklahoma is No. 2 in the country with 490 points.
Aggies Offense Compared To Nation
Utah State ranks among the top-10 teams in the country in 16 different statistical categories and leads the nation in six categories. Other than the top spot in points per game, the Aggies lead the nation in scoring drives of less than one minute with 22.
They are ninth in the country with 5,175 yards of total offense, No. 10 with 518 yards per game, including their school record 804 yards they racked up against San Jose State. Utah State is No. 18 in total passing yards with 2,934 and 20th with 293.4 passing yards per game.
Quarterback Jordan Love is No. 16 in the country with 2,676 passing yards and tied for 10th with 24 passing touchdowns. Love threw for 491 yards and 5 touchdowns in the win over San Jose State. He earned his sixth Mountain West Player of the Week award.
“Our offensive line protected, we ran the ball well, our running backs caught the ball very well and we continued to make catches around him,” said Utah State head coach Matt Wells about his quarterback winning conference player of the week. “That’s part of the quarterback’s job, is to inspire and invoke a performance of the 10 guys around him. The quarterback plays better because of the guys around him, too. You kind of have it on both sides and the weekly honor is a reflection of the entire offense,” Wells added.
Utah State Defense Against The Country
The offense isn’t the only group putting up impressive numbers. They have forced the most turnovers in college football with 26. Utah State leads the country in defensive three-and-outs with 6.11 per game and 8 non-offensive touchdowns.
They are No. 13 in the nation with 7.7 tackles for loss per game and 17th in passing efficiency defense with 109.2.
Utah State will travel to Fort Collins to face Colorado State on Saturday at 12 p.m. on AT&T SportsNet.
