Haws Leads BYU To Victory Over UVU 75-65

PROVO, Utah – The BYU Cougars took care of their crosstown rival Utah Valley 75-65 at the Marriott Center.
TJ Haws and Yoeli Childs accounted for over half of the Cougars points.
Haws scored 23 points while adding 4 rebounds and 4 assists on 8-of-13 from the field.
Childs had 20 points and 15 rebounds on 7-of-20 shooting.
Jake Toolson led the Wolverines with 14 points while Benjamin Nakwaasah added 10 points.
TJ Haws Leads Scoring Run
The Cougars scored 50 points in the second half after dropping just 25 points in the first half. TJ haws hit all three of his triples within a four-minute span.
BYU head coach Dave Rose explained how his team beat Utah Valley.
“We are still trying to find ourselves and our main stage guys are trying to get to the top of their game. I thought when it came down to winning the game our guys executed really well,” he added.
Utah Valley was putting a lot of pressure on BYU in the first half as they held a 26-25 halftime lead. The Cougars outscored the Wolverines 50-39 in the second half.
