Orem Handles Pine View To Play For 5A Championship

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Orem Tigers are going back to the 4A Championship game after beating Pine View 62-20.
Orem scored 21 points in the first 5 minutes and never looked back and earned the right to defend the 4A state title next week against Dixie.
Tigers running back Noah Sewell capped off a five-play opening drive with 33-yard touchdown run. After Orem blocked a punt, Buju Tuisavura found the endzone for a quick 14-0 lead. The Panthers fumbled the ensuing kickoff and the Tigers capitalized with another Sewell touchdown run on the very next play.
Orem amassed 412 yards of offense in one half of football and led 48-7 after two quarters. Sewell finished the game with 187 yards and 3 touchdowns on only 7 carries. Tigers quarterback Cooper Legas threw for 244 yards and 2 touchdowns; he also ran for 115 yards and 2 scores.
Orem and Dixie will meet on Friday, November 16 at Rice-Eccles with kickoff at 11:00 a.m.
