HONOLULU, Hawaii – The Utah State Aggies extended their winning streak to eight games with a 56-17 victory at Hawaii.
Although star quarterback Jordan Love was forced to exit the game in the second quarter with an undisclosed injury, the Aggies did most of their damage on the ground in this win. Running back Darwin Thompson had a career day with 141 yards and three touchdown scores. His backfield mate, Gerold Bright also had a great game with 121 yards and three TDs of his own.

As has typically been the case for Utah State this season, the game was pretty much decided early when the Aggies built a 28-3 lead after the first quarter. Both teams were scoreless in the second before Utah State dominated the third quarter outscoring the Rainbow Warriors 28-14. A scoreless fourth quarter for both teams followed.
Love Not Expected To Miss Time
Regarding Love’s injury, head coach Matt Wells wasn’t concerned when speaking to the media postgame.
“He’ll be fine,” said Wells. “I think he’ll be good next week.
Aggies Could Rise In Polls
The Aggies are now 8-1 for the first time since 1963. With several ranked teams above them losing, No. 18 Utah State is expected to make a considerable jump in the polls.
Utah State has now scored 40-plus points in 7 games, which is a school record. The previous record was six games set in 2012.#AggiesAllTheWay | #MeetTheChallenge pic.twitter.com/ILeuwxSGoT
