6A Utah High School Football Quarterfinal State Tournament Results

American Fork quarterback Boone Abbott (7) drops back to pass against Weber in the quarterfinals of the 6A high school football state tournament in Weber, Utah.

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The quarterfinals of the 6A UHSAA football state tournament is in the books. Eight teams competed in the second round, only four teams clinched a berth into the semifinals at Rice Eccles Stadium.

KSL Sports takes a look at all of the quarterfinal action.

The Results For 6A

Region 4 No. 3-seed American Fork Cavemen 45

Region 1 No. 1-seed Weber Warriors 31

The game was tied in the fourth quarter but the Cavemen took over as they scored 21 points to take the win. American Fork quarterback Boone Abbott accounted for five touchdowns in the win.

The Cavemen will face Region 4 No. 2-seed Bingham in the second round.

 

Region 4 No. 2-seed Bingham Miners 46

Region 2 No. 1-seed Kearns Cougars 0

The Miners scored 31 points in the second quarter in their shutout win over Kearns. Quarterback Peyton Jones threw three touchdown passes to lift Bingham to the next round.

Bingham will take on Region 4 No. 3-seed American Fork in the semifinals.

 

Region 4 No. 1-seed Lone Peak Knights 34

Region 1 No. 3-seed Davis Darts 6

Lone Peak scored 24 points in the opening quarter and that was all they needed. Kobe Freeman had a receiving touchdown and a score on the ground.

The Knights will face Region 4 No. 4-seed Pleasant Grove in the semifinals.

 

Region 4 No. 4-seed Pleasant Grove Vikings 38

Region 1 No. 2-seed Fremont Silver Wolves 14

The Vikings outscored the Silver Wolves 31-14 in the second and third quarter to pick up the win. Running back had four touchdowns, three on the ground and one receiving score.

Pleasant Grove will take on Region 4 No. 1-seed Lone Peak in the semifinals.
