BYU Passes Final Exhibition Test With Win Over Westminster

PROVO, Utah – The BYU basketball team played their second and final exhibition game against Westminster college and took the 72-43 win.
Cougars Rode Their Star Players
Yoeli Childs had a double-double with 14 points rebounds in 27 minutes of play. He shot 4-of-10 from the field, including 2-of-4 from the three-point line.
TJ Haws had 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. He made four of his 10 attempts from the field but did not make a three-pointer, going 0-for-3.
As a team, BYU shot 46 percent from the field and just 31 percent from deep.
Newcomers
Freshman Gavin Baxter scored 8 points while shooting a perfect 4-for-4 from the field. The Timpview high school graduate added 4 rebounds and 3 blocks.
Pocatello, Idaho product, Connor Harding scored three points and added two assists in 11 minutes of play.
Brandon Warr led the Griffins with 12 points.
BYU will open their regular season on Tuesday, November 6 against No. 7 Nevada in Reno. The game will begin at 9 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.
