Damian Lillard Scores Over 40 Points In Back-To-Back Games

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Damian Lillard scored over 40 points in back-to-back games, including a franchise record 34 points in the first half against the Orlando Magic.
Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma was inserted in the starting lineup and remained there when Brandon Ingram returned from suspension.
Delon Wright played his first game of the 2018-19 season.
Here’s how the locals did in their second week of the NBA season from Wednesday, October 23 to Tuesday, October 30:
Former Utes
Kyle Kuzma – Los Angeles Lakers (2-5)
Kuzma averaged 18.2 points per game in the Lakers four games of the week. His highest scoring output was 22 in the Lakers win over the Denver Nuggets. His slam dunk with 59 seconds left in the game, put the Lakers up by seven points. Kuzma remained in the starting lineup when Brandon Ingram returned from his four game suspension against the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 29.
NEXT UP: The Lakers will play three games in the next week, two games are at home against Dallas and Toronto with the Portland Trail Blazers as their only road contest.
Jakob Poeltl – San Antonio Spurs (4-2)
The third year big man started in one game for the Spurs in week two. That was against the Indiana Pacers in the Spurs only loss of the week. Poeltl played 13 minutes and had 2 points and 5 rebounds.
NEXT UP: The Spurs will play three games during week two, traveling to Phoenix and hosting New Orleans and Orlando.
Delon Wright – Toronto Raptors (7-1)
Wright made his 2018-19 debut against the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 24. He played five minutes. In their last two games of the second week, he scored four points against the Milwaukee Bucks. He followed up with a seven point performance against the Philadelphia 76ers. He averaged 13.5 minutes in the two game span.
NEXT UP: Three games are on the schedule for Toronto. They will be on the road for all three matchups against the Phoenix Suns, Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz.
Former Wildcats
Damian Lillard – Portland Trail Blazers (5-2)
The Portland Trail Blazers star point guard exploded in the first two games of week two. He scored 41 points against Orlando, including 34 points in the first half. Lillard added 42 points in Miami, finishing with a 30.2 points per game average. The former Weber State Wildcat struggled against the Pacers as he scored 16 points, but ended the week with 22 points against the Houston Rockets.
