RIVERTON, Utah – American Fork quarterback Boone Abbott had a big day as the Cavemen moved past the Riverton Silverwolves 52-34 in the first round of the 6A state playoffs.
Abbott finished with 403 yards through the air for five touchdown and an interception in the victory for American Fork. His primary target, Chase Roberts, hauled in eight passes for 184 yards.
Riverton hung with American Fork through the first quarter with a 7-7 tie at the end of the opening period. The Cavemen then grabbed the lead by outscoring the Silverwolves 38-14 in the second and third quarters to put the game out of reach.
