Darts Clinch Playoff Spot With Win Over Northridge

LAYTON, Utah – The Davis Darts defeated the rival Northridge Knights 23-14 Friday night at Northridge. In doing so, the Darts clinched a spot in the 6A state playoffs.
Davis kicker Will Ferrin had a great game, converting three field goals including two over 40 yards in the victory. Running back Carston Christensen also played well, rushing for 125 yards and a touchdown. While the Davis offense and special teams did their job, so did the Darts defense, forcing three interceptions by Northridge. Two of the interceptions were caught by Tate Gardner.
For the Darts, who went 1-8 last season, making it to the playoffs is a great feeling.
“It’s awesome,” said Davis quarterback Garrett Larson. “Especially the way last year went. It’s great. It’s a lot of fun.”
The Darts (5-2) will next hit the road again to face Syracuse next Friday. Northridge (4-4) will face Woods Cross in their regular season finale on October 17th.
