SANDY, Utah – Real Salt Lake made Major League Soccer history with a 6-2 dismantling of the LA Galaxy Saturday night at Rio Tinto Stadium. With the win over the Galaxy, and the 6-0 win the week before against the Colorado Rapids, Real became the first team in MLS history to score six goals in back-to-back games.
The game started in favor of the Galaxy with a strike by Jonathan dos Santos in the first 33 seconds. However, after that it was Real Salt Lake all the way for the remainder of the match. Albert Rusnak scored the first of two goals in the 14th minute to equalize the score. Real scored once more in stoppage time of the first half to take the lead and never looked back, adding four more in the second half to just one more by LA.
There’s no such thing as too many goals, eh @RealSaltLake? 😳 pic.twitter.com/fWPevyp5Cg

Midfielder Damir Kreilach registered a hat trick while Jefferson Savarino added to the streak of strong play with a goal and two assists in the win.
Galaxy superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic was kept in check during the match, something that head coach Mike Petke said earlier would be key to a Real victory.
The win was especially helpful for Real’s playoff hopes as it keeps the squad in the top six of the Western Conference.
A humorous moment caught the attention of the home crowd and went viral on social media when a duck invaded the pitch during the game, forcing the grounds crew to chase down the fowl before action could continue.
Real will next face Minnesota United at home next Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Ducks just wanna have fun!
